See Inside Mel Gibson’s Jungle Getaway House in Costa Rica

The actor-director discovered and bought this beautiful getaway in 2006 while looking for locations for his movie Apocalypto. Mel Gibson's mansion in Costa Rica is located in Nicoya Peninsula. This is called Playa Barrigona, an area known to be surrounded by sea turtles, ocelots and howler monkeys. This property is set on more than 400 acres and comprised of three residences, each of which is positioned on a promontory overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

The main house, Casa Guanacaste, has seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

There are two additional guesthouses. Both have two bedrooms and one features a poolside cottage. One of the structures was even shipped in from Bali and reassembled on site.

The white-sand beach is a short walk from the homes. According to the listing, Olive ridley sea turtles travel thousands of miles across the Pacific each year to lay their eggs on this beach.The mansion is on the market with a price of $29.75 million.
