An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia was killed by stabbing and strangulation by a fellow OFW according to the information released by the Philippine Embassy on Monday.
The victim, Monico Basco Manansala hailed from Sasmuan, Pampanga and was working as subcontract worker for Rimal Alswahel Co.
The suspect’s name is yet to be disclosed by the authority. Saudi police and the Philippine embassy are working for the investigation of the case.
Assistance to Nationals Unit (ATNU) Officer at the Philippine Embassy Abdulhalim Langco said that the two OFWs allegedly engaged in a fistfight that ended with the victim getting fatally stabbed by the suspect.
Full assistance is assured by the Philippine Embassy and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office to both OFWs and their families.
On Sept. 26, an OFW who was terminated from work allegedly stabbed his manager and co-worker but later gunned down by the responding security personnel in Farasan Island, Saudi Arabia.
