A wedding day is an event every loving couple dream about after an engagement. For many, it has to be grand and fabulous—a cathedral wedding celebrated with much festivity and luxury at the exclusive hotel reception, but for some, a simple ceremony will do— done in simplicity with selected friends and relatives. In the Philippines, being practical is always considered. It could be a civil wedding with a few family members and witnesses followed by a lunch or dinner in a restaurant. Some would also consider attending a mass wedding sponsored by a local municipality or city to seal their marriage.
How much will it cost you to have an average to “en Grande” church wedding ceremony nowadays?
In order to have your preferred dream wedding, you must determine your financial ability because it will definitely cost a lot. Finding a wedding consultant or coordinator could help you plan things out but in the end, it will always depend on your budget.
For the church wedding ceremony, it will cost P5,000 to P20,000 depending on the regulation of the church where your wedding will take place. Different local churches have their own charges.
After the wedding ceremony, you will go to the reception venue.
That is where you spend the time with your guests’ relatives and family. There could be more activities or program perhaps and you need to reserve that venue for about 4-7 hours. The wedding reception venue would cost you P17,000 at the least and a maximum of P120,000 based on about 150 guests. Most venues have set menu packages specially designed for big events with a large number of guests.
However, some events venue doesn’t provide food so you may need to commission a catering service which may cost you additional expenses of about P50,000 to P160,000 for food and drinks.
And of course, you would not let you dream wedding pass undocumented. And for that reason, you will hire the best professional photographer and videographer available to capture your most treasured moments. Unfortunately, they would not render their services for free. You may need to pay them around P70,000 to P150,000 for videos, photos, including a wedding photo booth.
The fact that you have to pay all of these, you are already spending even before the wedding, your wedding gown and the entourage cost you around P20,000 to P50,000. Your wedding ring would be around P15,000 to P50,000 for the pair and another P15,000 to P50,000 for the invitations, souvenirs, wedding planner, wedding entertainers including the singers and the hosts.
In total, in just a snap, your wedding expenses could cost you a whopping P192,000 to P600,000 maximum. At the end of the day, your dream wedding has passed as planned and tomorrow would be a new day for you as a married couple.
Practically speaking, you could choose the most lesser cost for your wedding and instead of spending everything in one fell swoop, you could somehow set extravagance aside and save your money for your future needs instead. After all, it is always you and your partner who will decide on how your wedding would be. You could do it at your pleasure.
