A prominent media personality said in a twitter post that Filipino workers are slowpokes and lazy. In his tweet dated March 9, 2019. He said that he will not apologize for saying it.
The said personality earlier compared Chinese workers over Filipino laborers, who he said “always smoke and keep talking.”
“You know why developers prefer Chinese workers? They’re hardworking. When Filipino workers go to a job site, that’s only when they will start preparing their tools, whereas Chinese workers are already prepared. Filipino workers always smoke and keep talking,” told CNN Philippines’ On The Record.
The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) on Friday called Tulfo’s remarks an act of betrayal against Filipinos and he should apologize for his words.
TUCP president Raymond Mendoza said Tulfo’s remarks are unpatriotic and acts of betrayal to his compatriots, particularly to Filipino workers.
“Filipino workers are not what Special Envoy Ramon Tulfo has said,” Mendoza said.
“They are the most sought-after type of workers compared to other nationalities because of their high quality of doing their work and because of their ingenuity, diligence, creativity and hard work they put into every tasks they are into,” he added.
