Children are our future builder of nations. And for our future to be bright we must provide them with good education and all the necessary things to lead to their success.
However not every family is lucky to have access to proper education because of poverty. So these 2 young siblings namely, Manuelita Borbon, 13-year-old, and Micko Borbon, 12-year-old, decided to sew shoes along the sidewalk of Valencia Street in Puerto Princesa City Palawan. Manuelita is in Grade 8 while Micko is in Grade 7.
The two had to sew shoes after school just so that they could save money for their daily expenses in school.
“Minsan pag may project ‘di na kami nagsasabi kila mama, kami na lang po bumibili,” Manuelita said.
They live in Wescom Road, Barangay San Pedro in Puerto Princesa with their shoe-sewer parents.
The two kids learned how to stitch shoes through their parents and by it they are able to support their studies and also help their parents.
Their dreams are to be soldiers one day and to inspire other students.
