Some people believe in luck, some don’t. Some argue if there’s such a thing as a lucky person.
Well, maybe this man can be considered as one of the lucky ones. This Filipino janitor who migrated to Canada a decade ago just won 7 million dollars, the jackpot prize in a lottery last month.
The lucky man’s name is Vito Halasan. He won last 27th of April this year. Reportedly, just days after his 58th birthday. He matched all six numbers in Lotto 6/49.
“I remember scanning my ticket and seeing all these numbers,” Halasan was quoted as saying. “I have really blurry vision so I had to hold the ticket right up to my face. I couldn’t believe it.”
And when it sank in that he won, he called his daughter and she also couldn’t believe what was happening and had to reconfirm multiple times online.
Halasan has 3 kids and 4 grandkids, and mentioned that he buys lottery tickets on a usual so he could dream.
“I dream of being able to take care of my kids and make their future better,” he said. “Now we’ll be able to buy a nice house for my children and grandchildren.”
