Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao has made a legendary career in boxing and the senator is not yet done in making his fans and fellow countrymen happy and proud.
Cause he just won another boxing match and it was with the unbeaten champion Keith Thurman over 12 all-action rounds on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena to capture the WBA title in a thrilling split decision.
Pacman recorded a knockdown in the opening round via right hook which proved to be the difference as it helped him steal Round 1 and edge out Thurman.
“I’m not the kind off boxer to be a talker, just promoting the fight,” Pacquiao said. “I think we did a lot off things [to promote the fight]. He did his best, and I did my best to make the people happy.”
The judges said that Thurman almost toppled a legend in Manny Pacquiao.
However, being as confident as ever Thurman wants to have a rematch against Pacman.
“I would love a rematch,” said Thurman after after his first loss in 30 fights and yielding the WBA (Super) welterweight belt.+
Thurman is 10 years younger than Pacman but sadly it was a disadvantage against Pacman’s experience in the ring especially in the later rounds.
“I wish I had a little bit more output to go toe to toe. I felt like he was getting a little bit tired, but he did have experience in the ring. My conditioning and my output were just behind Manny Pacquiao’s,” he said.
“You get blessings and lessons. Tonight was a blessing and a lesson. Thank you everybody, and thank you Manny Pacquiao.”
CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH THE BOXERS. THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB. CONGRATULATIONS AS WELL TO THE PEOPLE’S CHAMP MANNY “PACMAN” PACQUIAO
